School Girl Fashion Drawings by Effie Long. 1910 - 1915. 0 ▲ Dull Tool Dim Bulb 1 hour ago · Art · hide · 0 comments These are the delicate drawings of one Effie Long. One of the drawings is dated 1914. From a large group of 50 they are literally drawn on scraps of paper. I have collected quite a number of works by school girls from the late 19th and earl 20th century, and one thing we forget is the scarcity of paper then. Nearly every one of these are on scraps and from the backs of letters and advertisements, Most young artists of the era had scant little free time to practice. There were chores for everyone in the family, and I believe most of the “masterpieces” of schoolgirl art were produced by children of the wealthy who could afford proper materials and had the time. Group of pencil drawings by Effie Long, likely from the west coast, c. 1910-1915. Collection Jim Linderman / Dull Tool Dim Bulb #Schoolgirl. #juvenillia. #arteducation. No comments yet.
