Eyes Without a Space Invader 0 ▲ laze.net 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments This weekend, on the way home from a drive-in event at the mighty Mahoning (largest screen in the US! only 35mm projecting drive-in left!), the Simulwatch crew and I stopped off at Timeline Arcade in York, PA. We dropped $10 a piece for an hour of time in their substantial arcade. Their front room has a nice mix of newer games, classics, and pinball machines while the back room is packed with some old school favorites and lesser-known gems as well as the obligatory 80’s couches + CRTs + consoles: Timeline Arcade's couches and consoles I’m not much of a gamer these days, but I have fond memories of time in arcades back in the 80s, so I tend to drift towards machines from that era when I’m in these sorts of places. There were three games that caught my attention this time around and I spent some time with. First up: Phoenix, from 1980, a fixed shooter game (think Space Invaders, Galaga, etc.) It’s basic stuff: you’re shooting at ships that are coming at you in a variety of speeds and… No comments yet.
