If you can suspend disbelief enough that when the bumbling human detective thanks a group of sheep for solving a murder then this is the whimsical, charming flick for you. I loved it. My mystery loving mother will love it. You mileage may vary. There are several lovable characters in this thing. Not all of them sheep but a lot of them are sheep. The sheep can talk to each other but not to the humans. The difficulties of life as a sheep and the philosophy of sheep are discussed in great detail. There is also murder. And the sheep turn into very good detectives. There is a lot going on here both in the text and the subtext. Just listen as the sheep try to decipher God. But it’s also a movie that recognizes and discusses the plot points of mystery novels and then proceeds to follow them point by point.
