During the Steam Summer Sale, I picked up Ace of Seafood, a 2016 plane-combat-parody-game??? where you play as a fish who is trying to conquer the ocean. I haven't played a lot of fighter jet combat games like Ace Combat, but I've played enough to recognize the joke. The UI makes it pretty clear what kind of game this is supposed to be: Humans are gone from this world, but fish remain, and they've adopted human methods of warfare. Fish can shoot lasers and torpedoes at one another. Some fish are, actually, surface warships and aircraft carriers and human submarines. A Kagerou-class warship counts as a "new life form" you can "breed" while hiding in a reef. This is one of those games which is deliberately complex and hard to puzzle out - the menus are strange and difficult to navigate, and you can spend a lot of time trying to figure out what options are available to you.
