Dragonshadow (Winterlands #2), by Barbara Hambly 0 ▲ Siderite's Blog 2 hours ago · Writing · hide · 0 comments Barbara Hambly has her own voice, that's for sure. The book is good, not perfect, but certainly feels unique. The characters are flawed, but make the best of what they've got, using cunning and planning, their minds always in conflict with their hearts. The first book in the series was the same, it seemed to be a standard fantasy story, but the characters' depth changed everything. Dragonshadow sees the couple of dragonsbane and witch having to battle demons, both outwardly and inwardly. There are some heartbreaking things that are happening, only the characters don't break down into crying and spitting emotional messes, they act the best way they think possible to defeat their enemies and save the people they love. And that includes some dragons. Damn it, I might need to read the rest of the series now. No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
