Was it the 90’s All Along?

I have, for quite a long time, tried to figure out how to cover ‘80s music acoustically, or with an acoustic guitar and some samples in the background, and it’s really been a tough thing for me. Maybe I don’t have the candlepower for thought experiments like that. But I finally got to the thing. Last weekend, as all of you know, because you probably read this every day, look forward to reading it, and seeing what I’m up to or thinking about, I did a ‘90s alternative set. You can’t see me making air quotes, but that’s what I’m doing re: alternative. That’s another post tho. Anyway, I did not realize how strummy all that music was. Generally three chords, like anything else. Super up and fun, and I’d forgotten how much I loved it all because I’ve been so into DJing the ’80s for years. But really: A) People are way into the ’90s. B) Being able to reconnect with that time has been a real joy, honestly. It was that time before things got serious, and I think that’s why everyone looks back…
