Since I live in the Google ecosystem, I had Claude rewrite the code for Google Photos support. However, because of some limitations to the Google API: Since 2025, Google's readonly scope only returns media your own app created unless your project has the legacy grant, so a personal library may list empty. Oh well, I could still use the script with local files. I created a Google Takeout request for my photos, and it returned ~560GB worth of 50GB zips. That's a lot of photos! I wanted to test it on my most recent photos first, but Takeout doesn't give any indication whether Part 1 contains my oldest or newest photos. I suppose this is why I pay for gigabit internet... Regardless, I eventually downloaded everything and found some cool ones. It took a few minutes to process each 50GB directory, and produced roughly 1,500 wigglegrams with 15+ years worth of photos from my library. Most of them… No comments yet.
