Lemmy, PieFed, Nodebb and others are based more around topical message boards, which can lead to building more of a community.#PieFed takes this a step further by allowing people to create “feeds”. This allows you to group the communities that are related, and view them so you are focused on that specific community, instead of getting everything all mashed together into a single timeline. I have used lemmy a little bit but I think the server was too small, no communities had formed.Another thing I've been looking at is instance local posting like what Hometown has. I think that can create community in a microblogging space, and it creates a reason to choose a smaller instance over .social.Lastly, Bonfire looks like a great thing, I like their approach in centering specific communities in development. vrypan @vrypan@mastodon.social 58 days ago [-] I have no clue how "libertarian culture" and freedom is at odds with creating "cozy corners". The post is trying to say something, but instead of saying it, it tries to find some deeper ideological concept that's just not there.
