It's Not Easy Being Green

My green heron friend had something to say! I imagine this is his story.It’s not easy being (a) green (heron)…And why do they call me “green” anyway? Do you see green?…having to spend each day climbing through the rocks and leaveswhen I think it could be nicer being bigger like egrets, or something more noticeable like that.I still can’t believe he came this close; they usually stay more hidden. He clearly wanted to be SEEN.He does have “extend-a-legs” though!It’s not easy being (a) green (heron), it seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things…“Clearly, I am not ordinary!”…and people tend to pass you over ‘cause you’re not standing out like flashy booby’s diving in the water or preening on the shore.“C’mon people, just look at me!”But green’s the color of spring, and I have gorgeous yellow feet…I mean, just look at those FEET!…and I can dive and catch a fish…This whole sequence deserves to be seen - I can’t believe I watched him do this!Success!…or stalk a waterfall, or…
