Last Nights Lightning

The heat and humidity has been unbearable the last week. My back garden weather station has been recording 36c temperatures with dew points reaching 24c. For the UK that is ridiculous. It's actually quite unbearable at times but if it means I get an opportunity for some night time lightning, then I'll just about suffer it. It had been over a year since I last had a decent night time storm. I was definitely getting out of bed at 1am for this one. I spent 3-4 hours watching some rather chilled storms with very little precipitation. This is always a bonus as I don't have to reposition and inevitably find an inferior view point. Just me, some lightning, and a well placed bench was a perfect summers night. Some of these shots were at a 300mm equivalent focal length. I'm really happy I managed to land some CG strikes in the frame as that is quite a narrow field of view (the wide angle shots were just not doing it).
