Had a regular vet appointment scheduled for Wednesday but the cat started breathing really heavily on Tuesday morning so we went to the emergency clinic instead. He had fluid surrounding his lungs — a lot of fluid, of which they extracted ~280mL — probably caused by cancer or heart failure, but we opted for palliative care rather than subjecting him to tons of diagnostics and treatment with a poor outlook. feeling alright after the procedure before the pain meds wore off We spent the rest of the week in hospice mode, except he lost interest in food so we couldn’t even spoil him like we wanted 😭 He also didn’t want to be touched, so we couldn’t cuddle with him either 😔 It seemed like he might be doing better on Thursday night, but this morning he was clearly in pain.
