Claude fixed another bug in elementaryOS, with notify-send notifications not showing up in the notification center after a sleep: Root cause was a GDK bug, not the carousel at all. After sleep/resume, Gala's compositor isn't ready to supply a frame clock for new GTK4 surfaces. realize() silently creates a broken surface and the daemon has been dropping every notification since. The fix retries with unrealize() + 200ms delay until the compositor is ready — typically succeeds on the first or second retry. All my patches are available for upstreaming. #linux #elementaryOS
