2026-06-19Hello!It's fitting that today is a federal holiday in the US, and I meant to publish an article about Juneteenth today. I ended up publishing that article a few days prior, and it's more connected to the history that I learned regarding Juneteenth.While traveling north, I stopped by Augusta, the capital of Maine. Their state house was open to the public that day, so I went in and explored.Along with historic flags and historic names, they had also opened the doors for guests to view the House of Representatives. This is where they vote on decisions and voice their opinions.I'm not from Maine, so I don't know how they run their politics. More detail is listed on the Wikipedia article about them, and that article has the benefit of being updated over time as politics and membership change.Instead, I just have to note that the interior of this chamber looks pretty cool.
