Why a Surface Book? Well, I found this one at a yard sale many moons ago. I paid next to nothing for it. I love the design and I especially love the gorgeous 16:10 display. Also, it does the neat party trick of separating the screen half from the keyboard/trackpad half and becoming a tablet! Plus, it has an active stylus that helps get some drawing done.Spoiler alert: it's workingIn terms of specs? The nice way to put it would be they were modest when this was a brand new device.4x Intel Core i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40GHz8Gb RAMIntel HD graphics 520Genuinely not great. But still worth something, at least when it comes to web browsing and productivity. Plus, Emily has a pretty weak laptop that's significantly older than this one. I tired putting Linux on it but with its positively anemic Pentium Gold CPU? It's just not up to snuff.
