Om Malik

My heart goes out to my friend Om Malik’s family. Om was a wonderful person, artistic soul, and original thinker. He was always curious, generous, and warm-hearted. He loved to write and to take pictures, he loved people, and he loved to share his deeply human insights on technology and the world with everyone. I met Om through Anil Dash back in 2004, and our lives have been intertwined ever since. As one of the first and most successful bloggers, Om introduced me to many interesting people and ideas, including Matt Mullenweg and WordPress, which set me on a path toward open source and web publishing. We got to work together when True funded Om’s GigaOm blogging network, and became close friends and colleagues through many fun and enriching years of projects, gatherings, and adventures. Om, my family and I will miss your friendship, your smile, and your wisdom deeply.
