A Quick Thought About Brain Augmentation Tools 26 June, 2026 Some time ago, a friend pointed me to a video detailing the so-called second brain system of someone or another. Thinking, perhaps, that I would be impressed by it. I wasn’t. Not in the least. The system was over engineered, consisting of well over a dozen (actually, I think there were probably more than that) apps and tools. Along with paper notebook or two. All fitting together, as best they could, in what I can only describe as a delicate, haphazard, and precarious balance. Worse, in that suite (arsenal?) were multiple tools that did essentially the same job. Some of them in the same way. I’m still not sure how that system worked or how everything that made up the system worked together. I’m not sure how often that system broke down or required maintenance.
