This photo was the result of a collaboration with WikiPortraits, although not in the way one might expect.I've worked with WikiPortraits before, but this time, I was able to try a piece of every part of a long process before I'm able to take a photo. I got the idea and recommendation to photograph Jamie Ding through WikiPortraits, and I sent out messages to my friends and colleagues, hoping to get in touch with him.Luck was in my favor this time. After weeks of nothing, I heard he was showing up for a school panel in New Jersey in the middle of June, so I gave my contact details and asked to show up and reserve my spot.Many thanks to the school and my friend there (who I'm leaving anonymous for now!) for both allowing me to show up and notifying Jamie who I was so he wasn't caught off guard.Showing up early for the event, I met Jamie as he was walking in for a pre-show briefing.
