Second heatwave of the year so far and this one's a corker. Humidity is in the 60/70s and up, so it feels bloody awful. I know I shouldn't complain as I usually love summer and it's so nice to not be cold. This is just too much for me though. It's interesting to see how our 16th century cottage holds up with extreme weather. We've got windows to the side which we open once the sun has moved around and they provide a lovely breeze towards the end of the day. Keeping the curtains shut at the front (it's south-west facing) makes a noticeable difference. There's 2 windows at the back overlooking the graveyard which really bring in the cool air from under the trees. Upstairs is not so easy to control. It's mostly in the roof, which is well-insulated but still gets very warm. Yesterday, eldest's bedroom peaked at 31°C (that's 87℉ for those across the pond) and it's so stuffy.
