Nau mai Yesterday we took our rest in a town just a day’s horse ride northwest of Philadelphia that takes its name from the 18th Century Inn that featured an image of Frederick the Great on its frontage. A few of us went to get massages in West Philly first thing in the morning. While waited our turn on the massage table Gabe and I went to get breakfast, visiting a bagel shop that came highly recommended. The bagel I ordered had made Cleo Bagels famous in this part of the city. It was called a “Ramen Thing” - marinated egg, bamboo shoots, pickled ginger, togarashi mayo, seaweed crisp, sesame, and scallions, on an everything bagel. I enjoyed getting to see a different corner of Philadelphia. We wandered around neighbourhoods like Spruce Hill, Cedar Park, and Walnut Hill, none of which had powerful, striking names like King of Prussia. There was plenty of warm sunshine, though, and an abundance of handsome Victorian architecture. The iconic dome of the Provident Mutual Insurance Company…
