2026-06-17Hello! I lied. Have another photo from the Acadia National Park. It's just too good!This time, it's the early sunrise. Even at four in the morning, the sky had brightened enough to walk around outside without needing a street lamp or flashlight. It was crazy.This is me returning to my minimalist tendencies. It's the ball of fire in the sky, that becomes the center of attention for everything else in the image. Compare that to yesterday's sunset photo, and you can see how the same subject, framed in opposite ways, can make you feel different things.For one, the sun here is much more intense. That has to do with the more saturated color, of course, but because the rocky mountains have been replaced with reflective water, that color pops out more. They dominate more of the image and nothing else is there to compete with how bright it is.For another, you could see the rivers, trees, and mountains in the distance in my previous photo of the sunset.
