I don’t typically fall prey to negative thoughts like that or imposter syndrome- I’m happy just doing my thing here with the audience I’ve cultivated- but Night Raid is a game that has me doubting myself perhaps more than any other game I’ve ever covered. It’s a shoot ‘em up and I’ve covered several of those, but this game is unlike anything else out there. Night Raid is a mixture of surrealist presentation, an esoteric but unique and rich scoring system, and a soundscape that’ll send any 90s Playstation fan’s heart aflutter. It’s, in a lot of ways, the ideal game for anyone looking for one of those “import-friendly” games you hear about so often, and it’s the kind of game that words alone simply can’t do…
