The heat persists throughout the day, and even at night it does not relent. Outside it is more pleasant, yet inside the house it is still nearly 30°C. On the late evening of such a hot day, I set out to take a walk and escape the trapped heat within my home. Twilight transitions into a tepid night. Having arrived at the top of the sports field, the world is shrouded in darkness. I walk deliberately slowly; in the distance lies a dark-red stripe across the horizon, each step on the gravel crunching. Then I stop, for I perceive them – the small luminous points. They glide silently through the night, between the bushes along the path’s edge and in the dense branches of the leafy trees. I walk only a few steps before I pause again and observe this beautiful spectacle, fascinated and in deep reverence. I cannot believe what my eyes are seeing.
