I find my camera cabinet to be surprisingly full. And I have rule that all of my cameras need to fit in there, and when I buy another camera, if I can’t make it fit, something else has to go. So I’m busy shooting some cameras that have accumulated to determine whether they get to stay. I’ve already decided to say goodbye to my Kodak EasyShare C613 and Kodak EasyShare Z710, both fine performers with great color — because neither can accurately date files anymore, given that the date range ended in 2025. Now I’ve shot my Nikon Coolpix L340 again to see if it stays or goes. This is a deep zoom point-and-shoot that aims to be a DSLR replacement for those who want to keep things light and easy. It’s a good performer. Not great — it struggles a little in mixed light. But it’s a camera that kills it 90% of the time. I love to zoom deeply. A lot. It’s why I keep a 20-200mm lens on my Nikon Df most of the time. I like a lot that this camera runs off four AA batteries. I’m sure a proprietary…
