I love knowing ahead of time what's going to happen - aka "the future is already here — it’s just not very evenly distributed." Inherently I think we all know that there is an advantage to being ahead of the curve, but I like to challenge myself to take it up a notch and document my thinking at reasonable intervals (then review when the time comes up).
