I use two social media platforms: Instagram and Threads, but I don’t need to check my screen time to know that I’ve been using Threads too much this year. It’s a place where you can have conversations. I never liked Twitter because it felt like shouting into the void. With Threads, you start to develop a community and you see how everyone interacts with each other. But that community is in Threads, and Meta does everything it can to keep you there. I stopped posting what I wanted to post because after I got my first 10K views post, I wanted to feel that dopamine rush again. Then I had a post get 25K views, and a couple broke 60K views. If I recall correctly, in April, I had close to 375K monthly views in Threads. Because I’d never gotten that visibility before, I started chasing the Threads algorithm because I thought I found a platform that worked for me.
