Nau maiYesterday we played our second night at the Cat’s Cradle. My breakfast came from inside the cutest building in Chapel Hill. The restaurant was called The Purple Bowl and it specialised in a cuisine called Açai bowls, a dish made from the fruit of the Açai Palm, mashed and blended into a paste, and then served chilled, topped with other superfoods to maximise the nutritional impact of the meal. Inside the purple bowl restaurant was mostly air - hardly any tables and a tall stud height that emphasises the spacious, minimalist feel. I crossed the expanse from the door to the counter and ordered the only bowl that contained bee pollen, a dish called the Dragon Bowl: bee pollen, blueberries, coconut, kiwi, lime, pitaya pink base, mango, pitaya, strawberries, hemp milk. It was another sweltering hot day in Carrboro with temperatures reaching right up to ninety five which is scarily close to boiling.
