Good evening and happy Friday! Today is Juneteenth, commemorating the day when the enslaved people in Texas finally were told that they were freed. TNP gave us today off. I’ve also taken next week off meaning this is the beginning of my mini summer vacation! I’m attempting to capture a little bit of summer each day. Have I mentioned that I love June?This week’s Friday 5 theme is When in doubt, food. It’s a good motto to live by. What’s your favorite cured or preserved food? Salami! Not the larger, greasier meat that you put in sandwiches but the smaller salami that you see on charcuterie boards. What’s your favorite cooked dough with filling? I’m not sure if this is a Philadelphia-area regional thing, but a panzarotti is deep fried dough with pizza sauce and cheese inside. What’s your favorite add-water-to-this-powder beverage? I don’t usually partake of powdered drinks, but my favorite from when I was young was grape Kool-aid. What’s your favorite I-don’t-want-to-dirty-any-dishes…
