I fulfilled a life-long dream yesterday by becoming a published writer. The Texas Library Association published an article I wrote in the Texas Library Journal about an ongoing project we have the library called the Community Care Corner or C3. My article, “Community Care Corner: Small Shelf, Big Impact” is about a partnership the library formed with an area non-profit to provide basic hygiene items to the community for free. I guess all this is to highlight that the modern public library is more than books. We are community connectors. Librarians build webs of connection to community groups, information, and individuals all in an effort to link our users to the resources they need to thrive. It’s my favorite part of the job. Anyways, if you're inclined, you can the article for free here. I’m Justin. I write about librarianship, leadership, public service, and books. If you found this piece relatable, leave me a like or send me an email. Subscribe if you want more of what’s bouncing…
