19 June 2026 The UK gov has published the 2026 carbon emission conversion factors. You can use numbers like these (or from sources like Climatiq) to work out your organisation’s carbon emissions. The major changes document is interesting. Electricity is -26%, partly as the grid decarbonises, but also because they’ve changed the methodology: switching from 2 year lag to 1 year, means 2026’s numbers show 2 years’ worth of change. Some vehicles are getting more efficient, others are getting bigger/less efficient. and increases goods loads leads reduces the emission factor per km. International rail is up after the Covid era. And “homeworking” - a useful way of quickly guestimating freelancer emissions - has dropped 31%, mostly due to electricity’s emissions factor dropping. Previously: 2025’s numbers.
