We had a new well dug to connect to the house today. The old well wasn’t deep enough and the mineral content was causing pipe damage (not to mention water quality issues). The boy got to witness the entire process. As the drilling proceeded (about 220 feet!) we got to see the different layers (gravel, clay, sand, a mixture of all 3) the deeper they went. Little 5 year old mind blown. Achievement unlocked.
