Food Choices Galore, Amish Market – New York, New York There are, of course, many fantastic restaurants in New York City, and we went to a few. However, this was by far my favorite place to eat. The Salad Bar and Prepared Foods Bar at the Amish Market. Not only was the food delicious, but it was healthy, inexpensive (for NYC), and close to where we were staying. I was shooting at a 24mm equivalent, but this doesn’t show you the complete selection of this bar, which is the salad side. Next to it, and equally large, is a prepared food section with many types of meats and fancier dishes. In addition, the store was a mini-supermarket with everything a person might need for their small city apartment. I suspected that this establishment had no true relationship with the Amish, and I was correct, sort of. While it’s a supermarket now, a long time ago, when it started, it had produce shipped from Amish country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. In Austin, Whole Foods has a bar similar to this but…
