He was spoken of, and treated as a hallowed figure, and… it just doesn’t work now.Of course, the media present the PM as a sole figure, decision-maker par excellence, Great Leader. – No mention of the Cabinet, the legislative and executive, the real workers who thrash-out decisions, actions, or the under-secretaries whose task is to understand the highly complex issues, and frame the responses. What changed? Have we grown up, now, is that it?It was Boris Johnson, that utter… twit. That he was actually voted in as Prime Minister!The role has lost all lustre, kudos, specialness. The Figurehead has become a cardboard figure, a joke figure. This is part of the legacy that the present PM Keir Starmer has to deal with to achieve political standing.
