Game title: Forza Horizon 6 Plaform: pc Rating: 4.5/5 I am not the biggest racing game fan. That's my dad, with the racing sim gear he explicitly built to play Gran Turismo. In general, I am not a car buff. I drive an EV, and I see cars more as tech on wheels than objects of desire. Still, for the past couple of weeks, I have spent many evenings racing around Japan in Forza Horizon 6. Or, rather: driving around. Forza Horizon 6 is a racing game, and I do occasionally remember that I am supposed to win events, unlock wristbands, and prove myself to whatever the Horizon Festival thinks I should be proving. But most of the time I am just following a road because it looks nice. This is Japan, after all, and despite still never having visited the country, I'm kind of a weeb. A game about aimless driving lives or dies by whether the place is worth being aimless in. And this one is.
