I started up Forza Horizon 6 today. Shortly after I began playing, it told me I was disconnected: The start of an abrupt ending A bit later, the game disappeared from my screen, leaving this behind: Is that a custom hash algorithm? Yes, apparently the game will self-destruct if you happen to have Process Explorer, a Microsoft alternative to Task Manager, running. Perhaps they’re worried about me making sure the game isn’t using too much CPU. It might not be as annoying if the game refused to start if Process Explorer was running. But you go through the effort of loading the game and starting playing before it decides to enter a downward spiral. And so, I apparently have to remember to quit Process Explorer before I start the game. Will I get banned if I forget too many times? Let’s not get started on how the error messages don’t directly tell you what the problem is or how to fix it, or how a game developed and published by Xbox Game Studios gets so offended by some other Microsoft…
