My first web presence was in sixth grade on this website called the express page. It was one of those websites where you could make your own little html page, like an off-brand geocities I guess (I never used geocities). They had some stock gifs too: I remember I really liked this one juggler guy. My biggest memories using expage were the time when we found out it was not expages.com (that was porn) and the time I was updating my site in my sixth grade classroom and my teacher (who, I realize now, was probably in her mid-twenties) said “shit.” As you can imagine, that was hilarious to me and my friend Andy. I used myspace, but honestly I don’t remember much about it. I joined facebook in high school, somewhere between 2004 and 2006. I was at Andy’s house and he said, “hey there’s this new website like myspace, you should sign up for it,” and we set it up using his relatively-fast internet.
