Silver Ball Century ep. 61 - Mid-1991 - The DMD Rush

Last episode, we saw Data East bring us the first DMD pinball machine, Checkpoint. It was quickly followed by a lot more, although Gottlieb is contentedly doing alphanumerics still. What Gottlieb brings us instead is an animatronic dancing cactus, in the delightfully silly Cactus Jack's. We build up to Bally/Williams's Terminator 2, an instant classic. It wasn't even close to first in the DMD race, but it defined a lot of what people expect from a DMD pinball game.
