A spiked ball on a red field This is the flag the Republic of Macedonia used from 1992-1995 Look at that flag. A spiked ball could communicate “we project fierce, spiked defense to anyone approaching from the outside.” But from what I understand, Macedonia gained their freedom from Yugoslavia peacefully in 1991.
