In an academic setting, I function better as an autodidact than as a student. I don't think this is fault of my professors. Though, at the same time, I don't believe it's my fault either. There's a strange conundrum where I wish for mentorship, but cannot seem to find a style or medium of education that quite does it for me. It requires experimentation, but academic settings don't want to experiment with education styles for the mass amount of students. It's even less so that they want to actually actually provide the ideal education style for the students who find difficulty in a standard classroom setting. Anything that would solve this issue for students would be a departure from the well established education system. I guess it's just strange to me. During my schooling prior to college, at several points, we learned about several styles of learning. However, this was never implemented? We'd learn about them, then immediately return to the bogstandard style of education. Why is…
