Modern WordPress Themes use blocks to create a blog post or web page For my last Tech Tuesday (at least for a while) I thought I would write a short post about how the WordPress editor works. Sorry to bore you with all of this inside blogging stuff. I started this post thinking it would just be something I could write about, but as usual it forced me to go a level deeper than I normally would on a topic and I learned quite a bit about what I could be doing with WordPress. When I pull up the editor I can choose what type of block I want – usually it is just a paragraph, which is a block of text and has limited options for customizing. Mostly Text size, but you can also do colored backgrounds and on business tier sites (which this is not) you can add some custom CSS if you want to get really fancy.1 I kind of wish I’d taken the time to explore the block sooner – there are a ton of them and you can do some interesting things like hide and show text2.
