I woke up with a migraine today. This happens sometimes. Often, paradoxically, after a night of more sleep than my typical amount of way too little. As I was slowly gaining consciousness I discovered an email from Ko-fi. Someone had sent me a tip, with a very lovely message, thanking me for the Buying Coffee post. I actually teared up a little. It also got me thinking and made me realize another aspect I hadn't thought of before: Effort. People showing their appreciation by pushing those two little arrows towards the bottom of the page, the "toast"-button, that is great - leaving a tip on the other hand... that's just so much work! First they have to go to the capitalism page, choose an option, head over to Ko-fi, get out their credit card, go through the entire payment process, including verifying the transaction in their bank or CC's app... so much effort! And then on top of that they didn't go with the default amount either, but tipped me a bit over two coffees. Even more effort.…
