Interesting convo going on: Mike Harley’s post, Bloggers, can we make better titles for our posts? Kev’s reply Steve’s reply I won’t summarize the original post because Mike makes a number of different points, and it’s a relatively quick read. I will agree with him though, at least in the general sense: we bloggers should be deliberate with our post titles. I myself don’t particularly care where “deliberate” takes you. Be vague or hyper-descriptive or whatever. Just do it on purpose! In my case, I was brewing up one of those “Today’s thoughts” jumbles over the course of the day. And in my defense, I added more details to the title: “Today’s thoughts: Starlink in-flight WiFi, Zed predictions, …” etc., and I broke each topic out into its own section with a heading. But after reading Mike’s post, I figured, why not break those sections into separate posts? What’s the purpose of lumping them all together? Am I just trying to rush a post out the door? Maybe I was.
