Source Got a mega the week of June 1, 2026 – Tuesday was a foggy wet cool day but the fish were on – This extra big brookie at 25” long and 19” in girth and 10.31 lbs on my net scale is one of my biggest – it took a tube fly streamer that I was fishing on a 11’6” 7 weight switch rod – it was released and had a significant healed wound in the lower fin area. Only 25″ and over 10 lbs. Beamish has a history of this. The Nipigon region is the world’s best for large brook trout and the home of the record since 1916. I wonder about some of the ones I saw in Gaspe.
