Not every project gracing my bench is hours and hours, weeks and months in duration. Sometimes I’m asked to help get a customer over a hurdle. In this case, fitting the valve gear to a Percy chassis as part 9f a Fourdees kit…The Fourdees layers are printed in a resilient resin and the supplied etched parts all work as intended, bar the combination lever. I always find this needs a kink putting in it at the top, to clear the cross head. Once this is done, you have a smooth running chassis that looks the part. It’s amazing, you can see in the image above the drops of oil I’d just placed on all the moving parts to reduce the stiction - the resin can remain slightly tacky in my experience, so this ensures nothing gums up if the model is stored. If you need some help with your own project, why not get in touch to discuss how I might be able to support you and get it moving once more?
