Manual Lift
Manual Lift – Havana, Cuba I saw something like this more often than you can imagine as I walked the streets of Old Havana. This was the first time I was close enough to take a good wide-angle picture of it. Instead of going down the stairs and letting the person in, it’s easier to lift the goods up to a second or third floor. At least that’s what I assume is happening. At my Casa, someone visiting would yell up to the third floor. When visually identified, the Casa staff would throw a key down so they could let themselves in. A similar concept to what is happening here. This setup works on multiple levels, but imagine if the goods were Costco-sized packages? The small items on a string system would break down. That’s why we have huge SUVs and garages next to the kitchen in the U.S. Blog readers, you’ll love my free monthly photography magazine.
