Let me explain. First, greed-driven, shareholder value-focused businesses turn the web into a cesspool. Then we're offered an option to pay for a cleansed version of it. I don't have an issue with someone asking to be paid for their efforts to sift through garbage. What I do have an issue with is that only a fraction of users can afford access to the purified content. And the rest? This is not an egalitarian web — this is just another version of a tiered internet of haves and have-nots.
