Airport Architecture – Charlotte, North Carolina I often shoot pictures in the airport, for many reasons, actually. First, I tend to take pictures wherever I go because I love photography and it’s also a good way to pass the time. I do resist the urge to shoot near the TSA screening areas, however. Most high-security places don’t allow photography, and even if they don’t explicitly say so, I didn’t want to invite hassle. The other reason is that I love architecture, and many airports are above average in modern design. Not everywhere, of course. The old parts of DFW are rather boring, with low ceilings that smack of an infrastructure-built-on-a-budget vibe. Terminal D, however, is a bit better. Charlotte Airport was decent. Not particularly earth-shattering, but it offered some architectural views. I’ll always take the opportunity to shoot leading lines, and that one nicely placed person adds to the composition.
