Shiny Quarters

Collected the custom plate for my car from the county office today. My wife and I have different last names and since she’s the one who ordered the plates, they made her send an authorization letter for me to collect the plates even though I am listed as the owner of the car and have all the papers that they need. Bureaucracy, always ensuring everything is double and triple checked and signed with proof. In my infinite wisdom, I had screwed the original plates with black caps. To be fair, my wife had not caught the BTS fever back then. The caps claim to be easily removable with a flathead screw but in reality it won’t come loose without deforming the plastic. So the only way is to order both the screws and the cap anew. While paying for the new sticker (50 cents), I got back two shiny quarters from 2021 and 2023. I mentioned this to the clerk how new they looked and how I was collecting National Park coins. She was amused for a second and said maybe she should try collecting them as…
