Along with showcasing shiny cars (both vintage and new but modified), the event had a spot for parked boats, both on water and on land.I didn't bring any special lighting with me, but I don't think they would have allowed it anyway. Still, the sunlight, filtered through clouds above, provided a great natural source of light coming from behind me and reflecting off the shiny bits of the boat, like the center of the steering wheel.The boat is also under a roof, so the far parts of the boat are in shadow. I think that I would light up those dark parts with a studio light, if I had one and was allowed to bring it.Also, I would probably bring a light that has some control over color temperature. Color theory and specifically the theory behind the color of shadows is complicated (read Rees Atelier's explanation for where a simple rule of thumb could break down), but I think some experimentation would get me closer to some sense of understanding.All this speculation and…
