Wow Bao – Charlotte, North Carolina I’m in an airport again, but this trip has nothing to do with Cuba. As I indicated yesterday, I’ve wrapped up my long Cuba series. However, like I often do, I start new trip coverage at the airport. I’ll hold off on telling you the destination for the moment. However, the people subscribed to my online magazine already know. I flew from Austin to Charlotte, North Caroline with my wife. We had a couple of hours until the next flight to the final destination. This fast food outlet surprised me. If this were in Asia, or maybe California, or even New York, a place serving Bao, a soft Chinese steamed bun filled with meat, vegetables, or sweet fillings, might not seem unusual. But I wouldn’t have expected it in North Carolina. It’s amazing how formally exotic ethic food has permeated the country, which is fantastic. It reminds me of the story from Lee Iacocca, former head of Chrysler Corporation, who was teased when he brought this exotic food from Italy…
