The VIAIM RecDot earbuds are a pair of premium sounding earbuds with a back end AI summarization software that I struggle to find much difference between other AI note taking apps on credit-card-sized devices I’ve reviewed before which currently don’t hold a place on the back of my phone. The RecDot shines in online meetings and delivers up to 23 feet of offline meeting audio pickup, and like the magnetic snap on AI recorders I’ve reviewed before they have the ability to record audio offline. They appear to have the ability to transcribe meetings without a phone nearby with the use of FlashRecord which just requires the case and the earbuds (and eventually your phone to transfer and transcribe.) Useful for those times when your phone’s teetering on 3% battery and you just can’t spare it. The earbuds can also record and transcribe phone calls without informing the other party.
